Spring 2010 Season Announcement

GT writes "The Pro Player Developmental Singles League (PDSL) is now accepting applications for the Spring 2010 Season of 501 Singles pro-format darts.  Matchplay begins the week of February 7, 2010.  Application deadline is January 30, 2010.

Brackets can be from anywhere in the continental USA, but those outside of MA and surrounding states may have a non-integrated playoff format tbd.

Download the following information to start the process of entering your bracket for this Fall:

The Six Easy Steps to Joining the PDSL

  1. Read the information on the season announcement and application form and let us know if you have any questions.
  2. Gather your group of players, a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8.
  3. Line up a sponsor location that has at least 2-4 board setups, ask manager for sponsor fee check.
  4. Collect $10 fee from each player.
  5. Make sure the bracket rep or at least one player has reliable email and Internet access.
  6. Complete the application form and send it in with a check for the FULL amount by January 30, 2010.

Mark writes "The PDL offers three separate leagues of play to suit whatever you are looking for in the sport of darts:
  • PDL Team League: three levels of play with smaller, local teams and more available legs
  • PDSL 501 Singles League: long professional format of SI/DO play as they do in the pros
  • Cricket Singles League (CSL): long format of Cricket, points, of American Cricket

PDL News Tod's 800

Mark writes "Tod Velsor became only the second PDL team league player ever to hit the 800 point mark this past Tuesday in the second 501 doubles game.

Tod is currently in second place in the all-time points rankings with 803 points second only to Steve Lynch (960 points).

General News Kelley Family Benefit

Mark writes "Pete, President of the Abington Polish Club, wants to make the next Cricket Luck of the Draw Tournament a Benefit day for the Kelley Family. Some of you may know that Rick Kelley has been hospitalized for a few weeks now; seems he had some kind of splinter lodged in his heart, which the doctors removed. He has been out of work and the Polish Club wishes to help the family.

The Luck of the Draw is draw doubles, all Cricket - best of 5 games, $10.00 entry. The date is Sunday June 22nd and we will start at 3:00pm. You do not have to be a member to play.

In addition to cooking burgers and hotdogs for participants, Pete will be raffling off 2 $100.00 gas cards, which he is donating, to raise money for the Kelley's.

Please mark your calendar and try to make this tournament. It's a great time and we'll be helping out our friends."
